Women, Peace and Security at International Studies Association 2016

PSRP researchers Zoe Marks and Claire Duncanson will both present their research on gendered issues of inclusion in political settlements, and women’s military experiences in conflict at the 2016 International Studies Association conference in Atlanta.
Zoe will present the paper ‘Women at the Table, Women at the Door: Gender, Power & Inclusion in Political Settlements’ as part of the panel ‘Peace, Security and Women’s Empowerment’ on Wednesday 16th of March at 8.15am.
Claire will present her research on ‘Forces for Good? The Experience of British Female Personnel in Afghanistan’ as part of the panel ‘Going beyond the instrumental debate: Exploring the space for gender roles in peacekeeping operations home and abroad’ Wednesday 16th of March at 4:00pm. Claire will also serve as a discussant for the panel ‘Feminist Peace Stuiess: Peace beyond security, debates beyond disciplines’ on Wednesday at 10:30am, and participate in the roundtable ‘Gender and War: Critical Reflections on Feminist Theory, Research, and Pedagogy’ on Friday 18th March at 8:15am.
